Week 8--Your Health

Without health, you cannot enjoy any of your successes. People spend fortunes trying to regain their health when they are diagnosed with a deadly disease or are crippled with a debilitating one. To stay healthy, you must practice preventative medicine. One way is to use the Cellular Health Programs pioneered by Dr. Rath.

I have been taking his vitamins for over 10 years now. I had high blood pressure, high tryclycerides, high cholesterol, acid indigestion, and hyperglycemia. Today, I have normal or better that normal readings in everything. I also do not have heart burn, acid indigestion, or any symptoms of hyperglycemia.

Dr. Rath contends that most people are suffering from a low-grade scurvy. Scurvy is a disease that is caused by a vitamin C deficiency. Your connective tissue breaks down and you die. Your arteries break and red blotches on your body appear as the blood escapes your broken arteries.

He contends that cholesterol doesn't cause heart attacks, but that a lack of vitamin C does. Your body tries to protect arteries weakened by a lack of vitamin C and uses the cholesterol to reinforce the arteries. He also has studies concerning the prevention of cancer. Cancer spreads by destroying the cells next to it so that it can grow. The body needs vitamin C, L-lysine, L-proline, and Green Tea Extract to protect the cells. The body does not produce vitamin C or L-lysine. Therefore, it is essential to make sure that you are supplying your body with these 2 important ingredients.

I had colon cancer in 2005. I had been taking Epican Forte( now called EpiQuercican) which is the formula that contains the ingredients listed above for about 8 years. It is a Dr. Rath product. When the doctors removed 10 inches of my colon, they found a tumor that was over 1 inch long and over 1/4 inches deep. It was cancer.

However, the doctors were amazed that the tumor had not penetrated the colon wall. I was told that I didn't need any other treatments. I was sent to a cancer specialist. She didn't believe that the cancer had not spread and ordered more tests. The test results showed that I did not have cancer. She was absolutely amazed

I don't know why it didn't spread, but I believe it is because I was taking Epican Forte all those years. Dr. Rath says that you may get cancer, but cancer doesn't kill you unless it spreads. One other note, my family has a history of cancer. My mother, sister, and grandmother all had cancer.

Vitamins are an important ingredient to your success. If you are healthy and energetic, you will be able to accomplish your goals and, what is more important, you will be able to enjoy them.

You are what you eat. How many times have you heard that. Well, what you eat will determine your health and your appearance. When we discussed vitamins, we found out that the body needs them to produce healthy cells to replace old cells

A doctor friend of mine studies longevity. One study showed that eating less without losing weight increased longrevity. As an example, he used a new apartment building that had a maintenance crew to replace damaged parts and keep it like new. If the tenants kept throwing tons of trash in the halls, the crew would be so busy cleaning the trash out of the halls that it could not repair the building. The moral is that we must not eat junk food or we cannot keep our body in good shape.

One of the most important items in being successful is to be healthy enough to enjoy your success. I was fortunate that I have been healthy most of my life. It wasn't until I was in my fifties that I started to think about my health. I am sure that had I started earlier, I would be much better off. However, I did exercise regularly by playing basketball almost everyday at the gym until I was 55 years old. I started on the Dr. Atkins diet when I was about 55 years old. I was hypocycemic and also wanted to lose weight. I lost over 60 lbs. in 7 months and, as I told you earlier, I am in great shape now.

There are many diet plans available and I do not recommend any particular plan. However, I would advise that you do pick a "low carb" diet plan. As you probably know, we are an the verge of a diabetes epidemic. Record number of children are now diabetic. Dr. Atkins explains that we become addicted to carbohydrates and this leads to diabetes.

It is important to learn about nutrition, but, remember to keep an open mind because everyday new studies are changing the nutritional rules.

I never been one to exercise except that, as mentioned above, I played a lot of basketball so I did exercise. I just never lifted weights, jogged, or used the tread mill. When I was 55, I had to stop playing basketball. The kids were too quick and could run all day. Now that I am older and cannot play basketball any more, I have started exercising. I now use the treadmill for 20 minutes and use the weight machines to perform 6 exercises. I have found that I enjoy it and actually look forward to exercising.

I am not an expert and can only recommend that you exercise to stay in shape. I read the book Power of 10: The Once-A-Week Slow Motion Fitness Revolution by Adam Zickerman and Bill Schley and I use that idea. You should read a book or find someone to help you.

Read the The Fat Flush Plan by Ann Louise Gittleman. This book is a course in nutrition and may just change your eating habits and your life. It is another good book to add to your library.

Investigate and set up an exercise program if you do not already have one. If you need to read some books, buy them and read them and set up your program.

Start your program and follow it every day that you have scheduled.
